The notes, materials and questions are very helpful. If not, then you're still lucky, becuase Date has condensed the fundamentals of the relational model into a very approachable and very practical book published by O'Reilly, Database In DepthDatabase In Depth takes you through a tour of the key concepts of the relational model, starting with the very basics (types, tuples, relations and so forth), and takes you step-by-step into more formiddable territory (stuff like normalization, join dependencies, integrity constraints, relational algebra, and the like). I got this book after reading the superb "Computer Networking First-Step" entry in this series. We decided instead to start over, and read through it together, chapter by chapter. It is funny that this fictional race that Tolkien created seems to continue to operate in a very similar manner all these years later.I received a review copy of this ebook from Osprey Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
