They do make you want to investigate further and maybe try your luck with some of the varieties.The book contains information about succulents in cultivation, in nature and then the different types, such as; Crassula, Echeveria and Sedum. Alot of good pictures, alot of issues too. There were a couple stories that stand out like The Lighthouse Shambler, Apokatastasis and a couple more I can't recall the titles to But none of these were "scary" per se they are more like tales traded around a dinner table of an evening. This is where the interval training concept comes into play. Although the book does mention pretty much every model and show pictures of each, it's really just a brief once-over, and the pictures aren't even in color! That was the really disappointing part about a supposed "photo history" But nonetheless, it's a fun read and a real enthusiast will probably want it.. Nevertheless, the book has many exercises, which an expert in the field can handle. Ellen Brennan reminds everyone in her books to exercise caution in portion sizes and to eat in moderation.
