This statement is so very true for someone like me. I am so grateful for this book, saved my life. These arrangements are only intermediate level and not all that difficult, but still preserve the distinctive Monk sound.. It is here that I feel he uses this more as an excuse to be inarticulate than a tool to REALLY examine the issue. The impossibility of an individual being "a blank slate" has been recognized and the training concept is now for the clinician to appropriately use her/himself in the counseling hour, availing themselves of the life/training/values/morals they possess as an asset in helping those who come for help. I would absolutely recommend this book. This is a good story. Also a good gift for that people in your life that think the know it all about orcs..
